Autumn Equinox

The Autumn Equinox is wild with Mother Nature’s energy, here! 🍂🌬🌧 She is fierce! Rain, wind, dark clouds, a bit of sun, leaves blowing everywhere, shimmering gold as the season turns.

My own energy is a little over the place at the same time. One minute I’m laughing, the next minute I’m crying, I have a little anger bubbling away, but also feeling beautifully vulnerable. It’s a fiercely tender time here, for fiercely tender me.

My body is delicate, my mind is restless, and my heart is quiet.

Through all this, I’m very aware that the Equinox is a time of transition, balance and gratitude. As the sun crosses the Earth’s equator from North to South, we find ourselves in a space where day and night are most equal, and the Earth is balanced.

A very strong time for prayer, meditation, intention-setting and saying thanks. It’s kind of like Thanks Giving, for hippies 😂🙏💫

The term Equinox comes from the Latin words, ‘equi’ – which means ‘equal’ – and ‘nox’ – which means ‘night.’

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the Equinox happens just before 3am.

So, if you find yourself with a bit of time for self-exploration and contemplation tonight, ask yourself what it is that you’d like to harvest as you move forward into Autumn? What is ‘falling’ away? What would you like to let go of, and what ways of being, are ‘holding you back’ as the wheel turns and the season changes?

Also, what are you grateful for from Spring and Summer? What experiences lit you up? Take the essence of those beautiful moments, and say a quiet thanks for them as you open your arms out wide, with your favourite snuggly jumper on, to lovingly receive the gentle, changing, growing, evolving, resting, healing energy of Autumn and Winter.

Enjoy this wonderful season, in all its pumpkin-spice and crunchy-leaf glory! 🍁
